How is this different than basic Family-Centered Care? Aren't they essentially the same?

They are closely related. This is merely an attempt to focus on those aspects of care that are unique to Intenesive Care Units, Cardiac Care Units, Burn Units, Neuro- Neonatal- and Pediatric-ICU's and the concerns that are special to families and patients in such units.
